Position Overview:

They are seeking a passionate and dedicated Adult Occupational Therapist Lead to join their experienced team in Balwyn North. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supervising and developing their team alongside assessing and providing tailored interventions for adults living with disabilities, supporting them in achieving greater independence in daily life. This role is perfect for an individual who is enthusiastic about making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities and is eager to grow professionally within a supportive environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of adults with disabilities, focusing on physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans that promote independence and improve daily living skills.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, including assistive technology and home modifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Document client progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
  • Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary meetings, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in occupational therapy practices and disability services.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and their families.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain these).
